Happy Spring!

It's a time of new beginnings, and the website is finally getting the one I've been planning for months. I know it's been a long time, but believe me I did a lot of work. Thorfinna.com is now part of the website lunatickangaroo.com (see the button to the left). I've also bought hosting, so I was able to stop putting photos on geocities and now have them all here at the site. I also had plenty of room to add more photos, so you can see shots I've taken and haven't been able to display until now.

In the artwork section, things have been rearranged, and I've now added some avatars and graphic signatures that I've made for use on message boards. I've been keeping pretty busy lately, and have been making props and costumes for the Friday Night Specials cast of Rocky Horror. Hopefully I'll get some good photos of them and if so you'll find those through the Lunatic Kangaroo site.

Solstice is here! Time for the yearly unveiling of my holiday picture! I've posted it on the artwork page for your viewing pleasure. It's a bit different from my past holiday pictures, but I hope you still enjoy it. No sense in being predictable is there? Okay so you read last month's post and know I just didn't have time to do a full illustration. I'm happy with the way it turned out though, and it's always fun to have a little change once in a while. Have a happy holiday all!!

November 29, 2004

It's the end of November and I haven't even begun my holiday drawing yet. I think I will have to simplify it this year, and must apologize to you all in advance. I just have found it hard to be motivated to draw much the past six months or so, and have just kept doing design drafts and no final products. I do have a holiday design in mind though, and will begin on it shortly. Since I kept rejecting design ideas, hopefully this one will remain in my favor long enough for me to draw it.

I have one drawing new to the site with this update. It is a bit different from anything that I've done before, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. It's called "Rebirth" and is located on the Artwork page. Also check out the "Photos of Me" page for a new pic of me in my Halloween outfit this year.

This month's big project was hairfalls and accessories. For the past six weeks I've been working on them and now they are available in the "Store". There are 8 pairs, all unique, as I have not yet ever duplicated a design. I will also be selling them at Chiller Theatre on Halloween weekend, so buy them before those people do.

I also visited Sleepy Hollow Cemetary again, and have a new set of photos up for you to enjoy.
Check the "Photos" page for link to their current location.

I have completely revamped the site again. I got tired of how it looked and knew I could do better. I'd tell you what kind of content I changed when I did this, but that would take away the fun of making you look around.

July 21, 2004

Greetings. I must dub this month "Otaku Month" due to the fact that all my additions are fan-related.

Added this month on the Artwork page is a new wallpaper. This is dedicated to Narutofan.com, and depicts several characters from Naruto as if they were in an iPod advertisement.

Also on the artwork page you'll find two new fanarts. This is the first fanart I've done in years (see "Kami", I do listen to you EVENTUALLY). It was supposed to be one piece of work, but as is the case with art, sometimes it just doesn't work the way you want. The smaller piece is more a representation of my original concept, and the larger is a color full scene picture. So in addition to being my first fanart in years, they are also my first color fanarts. They are both of Vash the Stampede, from my favorite Anime series, Trigun.

Three new things have been added to the website this month. First - a new piece of artwork! Pop by the artwork page and see "Bluebird". Second, in addition to artwork of her, there is also a wallpaper of her at 1024x768 available for download. I'm enjoying making wallpapers for characters, using Yoko Kanno lyrics for each, and hope to bring you more in the future.

May 27, 2004

May is coming to a close before I am ready for it. I do not have my latest picture completed yet, but I am in the process of drawing the final draft and am sure I will have it up by next update.

I've added another gallery of photos, from a trip I took to Sleepy Hollow Cemetary recently. I'm very pleased with the way some of the photos turned out, and special thanks to Rebecca Vayne for posing in the one shot.

April 27, 2004

Greetings and welcome to the April update, which I am sneaking in barely before the end of the month. As you can already see, the Nav bar has been changed yet again to accomodate a new section. I made a few items to sell at Chiller Theatre, and what I have left I am offering for sale here on the site, and plan to add to it now and then. Click on "Store" and see what they are.

You will find a new picture in my "Artwork" section. As a bonus, I took it and my main site drawing, and threw in some miscellaneous items to make a wallpaper for your computer. download it, stick it on your screen, and "Thorfinna" will be with you always!

Other than that, the site only has a few small additions/changes to make visiting it more enjoyable. thank you for coming, and keep coming back each month.

March 15, 2004

The past few weeks I got to see a couple more local bands play: Brother John Brown and Black Dog. Both were excellent and I got to hang out with great people at each show. I also got to tag along on another photo shoot with Rebecca Vayne as she happened to be heading into the city to shoot with another model in this cool apartment on Bleeker Street. It originally was a tenament for Irish immigrants and had such a great feel to it. I've become a little bit of a fashion consultant/designer as well as assisting both her and the other model Belle Morte, from Wicked Talent. You'd be surprised how many various things need to be done from a photo shoot. I did everything from finding and holding props and coats, fixing broken zippers, unhooking stuck lingere, to figuring out how to tie a rope into a noose (bet you don't see that at many photo shoots).

As for my own projects, I have been working on some nice gothic hair falls since the ones I made for Rebecca turned out so well. They'll be on the website once I finish them. My other projects are still in the works, taking longer than I thought, but I promise to share them with you as I finish them up. I am really sorry I haven't drawn any pictures for the site since before
New Year.
